Parish Nursing

Parish Nursing Ministries UK (PNMUK) is a not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to maximise the wellbeing of society in community through three specific means:

application of professional nursing skills to…

  • healthy living and coping with illness
  • response to people’s inner (spiritual) needs
  • and mobilisation of ordinary members of church communities and beyond.

Alison Johnson serves as our Parish Nurse in a voluntary capacity bringing her nursing and counselling skills.

Holiday@Home (H@H).

This event runs for three days in August by our Parish nurse & a team of volunteers aiming to show Christ’s love in action to older people who don’t get a holiday. Guests do not have to be connected to a church. We provide a variety of activities including board games, craft, entertainment, a wood carving demonstration & model railway. There is a team of volunteers who spend time talking with guests & joining in activities. Tea/coffee & biscuits are provided on arrival followed by a brilliant home cooked lunch & afternoon tea. We also try to get a trip out for one day with a picnic, Hyde Hall proving to be a popular choice!  We try to keep the cost charged as low as possible & where we can provide transport to & from the church. Anyone needing a carer is welcome to come but need to have a carer accompanying them.
