Seekers

Well, here we are at the end of yet another lockdown and the Seekers are raring to go!   Since many have had to forego their regular activities and routines that they generally thrive on, it’s understandable that they are looking forward to receiving their next programme in September which will include all the social and monthly church meetings that we all enjoy.
During lockdown we have met up with some of the Seekers safely in parks and many have enjoyed a new keep-fit regime which involved us doing many steps and appreciating nature and all of God’s wonderful creation.  We encouraged them to share photos on their WhatsApp group, posting news and keeping up their friendships with one another.
At the end of May we had planned our first Seekers meeting inside church where we will continue to explore the good news of Jesus together.  Then at the end of June we met in the park for a cream tea.  We managed to achieve this last Spring and it was a great success as the weather behaved itself.  Lastly at the end of July we hope to have our yearly pool/bbq party.
For the next term in our Autumn programme, we plan to add walks to our usual favourites, which include bowling, indoor mini golf, meals out etc.  We are looking forward to being able to enjoy that long awaited celebration of being re-united once more.  Blessing from us as we move forward as a Church together.

Our Seekers group is an amazing and wonderful group of adults with various learning disabilities. They meet monthly on a Thursday at the church for food, fun and fellowship and a chance to talk about faith issues.

As well as that, they have a hectic social calendar of various trips and events during the year which they all really enjoy. All leaders and helpers are DBS checked through the church. To find out more, get in touch with Joy Rooke via the Contacts page.
