Avenue Baptist Church has been part of the Southend community since 1876, when thirteen local residents joined hands in fellowship and committed to forming a Baptist church in the town. Avenue is a welcoming church made up of people of all ages and backgrounds who are learning together what it means to follow Jesus and care for one another.

In 2026, Avenue Baptist Church celebrates 150 years since its founding. To mark the anniversary, the church is hosting a series of concerts and events, bringing a range of performers to Avenue.
