Children Playing Games

Avenue Playgroup

Avenue Playgroup has facilities for pre-school children aged two-and-a-half up to four years.

ABOUT AVENUE PLAYGROUP

At Avenue Playgroup, we offer a warm, welcoming environment where children can learn and grow into happy, confident, independent learners, supported by friendly, knowledgeable staff.

We aim to support children in their learning by first nurturing strong relationships with parents and carers, then getting to know the unique child. â€‹We then support the children’s development through meaningful play, strong attachments, and quality interactions between adults and children, and the children with their peers. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Our regular activities include story time, action songs and singing, Bible stories, messy play, role play, imaginative play, physical play, and outside play. Throughout the year, we also have many trips out to the local park and the beach.

Story Time

We allow the children to follow their own interests and extend their knowledge through play-based learning experiences, supported by trained and DBS checked adults.

We aim to support families to continue the child’s learning in the home environment through communication of their next steps and sharing information on how to do this.

We want children to experience the awe and wonder that the world has to offer, to extend their knowledge and become confident, independent people ready for their next stage in life.

Healthy snacks are provided each morning, and we have separate child friendly toilets. We strongly believe in learning through play, and we do our best to ensure that our children are happy and enjoy their time with us.

The Government funds a 15-hour per week (universal) place for all 3- and 4-year-olds from the term after their 3rd birthday.

There is also additional Government funding for working families and 2-year-olds, dependent on parental financial situation. We are also part of the Government tax free childcare scheme.
