Seekers are a church group for adults with Learning Disabilities who meet on a monthly basis to learn and share the good news of Jesus and meet socially with a programme of activities running throughout the year. 

The Seekers group have a regular presence in Avenue’s Sunday Services. They have always been proactive in worship and prayer.  

During the Covid lockdowns their mutual friendship and support of one another has only increased during their time apart.

We look forward to working alongside our new Minister Rev. Jane Guest as well as our part-time Minister Rev. Jim Kilpin, who loves to join us whenever he can.

Jane was with us for our last event on the Spring/Summer 2021/22 programme, our pool and BBQ party. Much fun was to be had by all. Our other activities have included a holiday to Cromer, Norfolk with 11 Seekers and 9 helpers, being away for 4 days.  The group stayed at a Christian retreat where we were really well looked after. They visited Thursford and also took a steam train trip from Holt to Sheringham whilst in the evenings we had fun together discovering the meanings of the Parables with craft and creating a scrapbook project.

 

On our return to Southend our Seekers spent a lovely sunny evening at the Leigh Golf range enjoying bacon rolls in the garden before many of them showed their prowess at hitting a basket full of golf balls at the targets.
