OUR MISSION
At Avenue Baptist Church, our mission is to live out our faith through practical action, community support and meaningful partnerships.
We believe church should make a difference beyond its walls. That means supporting people locally, responding to real needs and partnering with organisations that are creating lasting impact both in the UK and around the world.

We actively support Southend Foodbank, a local charity providing emergency food and practical support to people facing hardship across the Southend area.
Working with referral partners such as schools, healthcare providers and community organisations, the foodbank supplies nutritionally balanced food parcels to individuals and families in crisis. Alongside food provision, they offer a listening ear, signposting and support to help people move towards greater stability.
This is an ongoing commitment and forms a key part of our work serving the local community.
We support Compassion UK, a Christian charity working to release children from poverty through long-term, church-based partnerships.
As a church, we sponsor a child through Compassion, contributing to programmes that provide education, healthcare, nutrition and mentoring. This support is designed to create lasting change, equipping children with the opportunities they need for the future.

The Leprosy Mission is an international Christian organisation working to support people affected by leprosy.
Their work includes medical treatment, rehabilitation, education and community support, helping individuals not only to be cured of the disease but also to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.

We also support Jill Duncan who is a church member & former youth leader with Avenue.
She is currently at St Andrew’s Church in Abu Dhabi working with young people in the church.
